Prologue
LABROS is the name of a group of 6 friends who met for the first time in 1988 at Los Angeles during summer holidays. Now after 11 years the group is still alive. This web site is the result of the initiative of FAUSTO who wants to keep alive the group and disclose its story over the Internet.
Components name
The names of the 6 friends cannot be disclosed. We will use just the nick names that the group members usually use to call each other. They are: Cascio, Fausto, Secco, Secco di Milano, Siro.
A bit of history
Cascio: Also called Gordon Gekko for his passion for Wall Street
businessmen, his favourite motto is: "If you wanna a friend get a dog...".
This motto best describes Cascio and his attitude to life and others except
for LABROS of course. During the amazing travel to USA in 1988 Cascio lost
his girlfriend during a phone call. No one knew the reason at that time
but now it is no more a mistery. This fact affected a lot the behaviour
of Cascio during the travel.
Fausto: He is the most affrodable among the
6 LABROS as was clear during the mad day spent in Los Angeles driving down
to Sunset Boulevard with the car full of alcoholic drinks
and drunk friends. Thanks to Fausto and Secco
LABROS came back home without seeing L.A. jail. I can stil remember the
eyes shot between Fausto and Secco driving two cars when they saw a police
stop in front of them. Forunately policeman just pointed his flashlight
on drivers and saw sacred but not drunk eyes.
Puerto: His name comes from the fact that he was able to make hismself understood by Portoricans without being able to speak their language. This characteristic was very important during the holiday, above all because Puerto was not able to speak english at all. It is still famous his attempt to ask information to find a motel: "Excuse me, are motels?". His motto is: "It is better to have a smoke than to be smoked!". In fact Puerto smokes a lot and also at the time of USA holidays he used to smoke self made cigarettes. The motto refers to the fact that in life is better to do something to others even bad than to let others do something to us even good.
Secco: His nickname means thin and he is infact
the thinnest of the LABROS. His thinness anyway is very balanced by other
things that is better to leave unspecified. Excluding some sporadic cases
of affordability, Secco is actually a bit mad. Usually goes to bed
very late in the night after having a banana, a piece of meat and many
beers. During holidays in USA he used to swear like a trooper. He left
a chicken in the waste basket of his room for three weeks approximately,
causing a disgusting smell all over the floor.
Secco di Milano: Altough he has more
or less the same nickname of Secco he is more fat than him
also at the time of the holiday in USA and anyway nothing is actually balanceing
his thinnes. As it can be argued from the nickname he cames from Milan
whereas other five LABROS came frome Rome. During the holiday in USA he
was the most irresponsible of the group. All the bad and dangerous things
were thought from him, starting from the notorius "Orange juice" (a cocktail
of orange juice and tekila) and ending to the attempt of imitating
some bad guys infront of the Rainbow at sunset boulevard. We have
to say that he seems to be also very lucky because none of these
things caused any damage.
Siro: He is the most reliable of the whole group even if he was one among the drunks inside the car during the mad day in Los Angeles. I still remember Siro sat outside the window of the car with the Orange juice bottle in his hands screaming all around. He was always concerned about the right tip to give at restaurants and anywhere else needed. He was the first to meet Fausto, Puerto and Secco di Milano at Month St. Mary during a late night party.
